What is the best way to make goldfishes lay eggs?
I have a common goldfish of slightly smaller then 4 inches. And four beautiful goldfish fry. Can 5 of them spawn currently? or should I buy more? Is it true that goldfishes have to be at least 3 years old to spawn? By the way, how old is my common goldfish ? Okay. know about that breeding thingi on kokosgoldfish but is that true? If not what is your method?

My method would be to put several of them in a pond and leave them there. They have to go through the cold to spawn in the spring.
The breeder size I have seen of goldfish are 7-8 inches long. Maybe yours was stunted?

Your goldfish is too young to breed. If that’s a common goldfish, it will take many years for it to be a mature one because its adult size is about 18 inches.

in southeastasia, there’s only wet and dry season, no winter and spring. when goldfish tanks are subjected to massive water change for aquariums or heavy rains in ponds, the goldfish will usually spawn the next day.. i’m assuming your goldfish are breeding size. if they’re not, no amount of motivation will induce spawning

Goldfish can breed in their second year if they are large enough(usually over 4 inches). A water change and a cool down first helps bring them into "season".
I’ve had them breed indoors, but I usually keep the tank in front of a window, so the natural light helps them, and we don’t keep the house very warm in winter, or use air C in the summer…so they get quite a temp variation.
A 40% water change when the weather starts to warm up does the trick. They lay their eggs in plants, it’s good to use plastic ones and remove them after spawning to a tank for rearing the fry.
