pearlscale?
i just aquired a a beautiful pearlscale
from a breeder friend of mine
i did a little research on it
but i so contfused some say it cant be with other fancygoldfish and some say they can be
same say if the scales fall of that they wont grow back some say just give it time
i want to asimilate it with my other goldfish but im afraid waht might happen
i tryed it with my lionhead goldfish and it started to get harassed my it was it a fluke or
was it attacked cuz maybe it was ill or are they uncompatible
are they compatible with black moores and ryukin ?
take in mind all my goldfish are no bigger then 4 inches and the pearlscale is only 2inches

Your friend who is a breeder should have told you. Pearlscale (or otherwise known as golfballs ) are still goldies and will do fine with other goldies. YES they can be with fancy’s as well as other goldfish. Scales do and will grow back. Chances are if kept with the lion or the ryukin’s you will end up with little ones with headgrowths!
There are two major groups of pearlscales - with and without headgrowth. Yes, a pearlscale can have headgrowth, and in this case its called a Hamanishiki. The most desired headgrowth should be all in one piece, round and even, with no little growth behind the dominant headgrowth. This is very hard to achive, and most commonly hamanishiki have a flaw in their headgrowth one way or the other. A crowned pearlscale with the perfect wen is highly desirable and priced accordingly.

Your pearlscale is still a goldfish no different. They will all get along.

Most of the time yes. They do well with most other goldfish as long as it doesn’t have to compete for it’s food. Comet and commons can not be with pearlscales. Yes you can keep Black Moores and Ryukins with them. Yes the scales will grow back if they fall out but try to not let them fall out because they will not grow back to their original form. They will be much uglier.
