How long can you keep Goldfish?
If not what should i do with it? The goldfish aren’t for me but they have to last a day and I don’t have any fish supplies
There are 24 in a little baggie that the pet store gives you and they look really cramped ![]()
They are for a little boys b-day party tomorrow
Oh my god, the kids aren’t taking them home! They simply get to "release" them into the pond we have. jeez

If the fish are in a plastic bag, they may not last the night! What are you going to do with the fish? I hope you are not intending to give one to each attendee to the party! It is almost a certain death sentence for the fish! The best thing to do is to return the fish to the petshop even if you have to pay them to take the fish!

Goldfish live for upto anything between 5 to 30 years, why did you get a fish if you can’t look after it?
If you don’t want it then take it to a pet store or aqaurium centre and they will take it. Please make sure it goes somewhere it will be looked after!

you didn’t mention how many or what they are in if they are a gift for someone or what if you are holding them to give someone you could keep them in an open bowl until you can give them away they will be OK with out food for a day if you want to add water make sure it isn’t chlorinated
I would put them into a big open bowl so they can get fresh air

If they have to last one day, that shouldn’t harm them. You don’t need to feed fish every day anyway. You shouldn’t over feed fish, because that can cause possible harm to the fish.
If you’re looking at one day, there’s nothing to worry about.

If you don’t have any fish supplies what do you plan on doing with them for your sons birthday?
If you were going to give them as a present you would need a giant tank because goldfish need a lot of room.
You could go ahead and set them up for him. I don’t know how long thye will last in that bag because the oxygen will run out of the water eventually. I have heard you can leave them in there for a couple of hours and they will be fine.

well if you plan to "give" these fish away like their some kind of novility. goldfish are one of the worst first fish you can get. their very dirty and need 10 gallons each. these goldfish are probly the little 23 cent ones you get right? they are common goldfish and can get a foot long and live for a very long time. i have had my fancy goldfish in a 30 gallon for 2 years and hes a very inteligent fish. i dont think its right for you to use these as little give-aways. these kids will have no idea how to take care of them and put them in a little bowl and i bet in a week the fish will die and the kid will be heart broken.

Wow, put them in a large tupperwear bowl.
25 goldfish is a lot of fish. Does your friend have pond or a tank already? Does his mom know you got these for him?
Without your friend having an aquarium set up, this isn’t the best idea. Honestly I would return all but two of the fish unless he already has a place for them. Feed them peas, lettuce oranges etc. they will be fine

Gold fish can go three days at least without being hungry….about a week without needing food and then they staart to eat each other. one day will be nothing for them!
