Well for one goldfish you need around 25 gallon tank, and for every goldfish after that you need ten gallons. So if you get three goldfish you’ll need a 45 gallon tank. They are coldwater so they dont REALLY need a heater, but you should keep one anyways and set it as low as you can because this will help to keep the temp from flucuating which can stress out fish.

Goldfish are basically carp, they produce a lot of waste. You’re going to want to get a master test kit so that you can keep a check up on the ammonia and such. Regular water changes are so very important. At least 25% a week, but I’d recomend doing around 40% weekly. Pythons are great when doing water changes and vaccumming the gravel. You’ll also prefferably want a filter that filter twice the amount of gallons you have. So if you have a 20gallon tank, a 40 gallon or more filter. Goldfish get pretty big and can live 20+ years with proper care. There are also many differant "cool" other coldwater fish that can be kept with goldfish.

I’ve taken care of goldfish for a couple years but stopped until I can have my own pond. That IMO is the best place for a goldfish.
