How can I use Epsom salt to treat my fancy goldfish that has dropsy?
Do I just put some in the water? How much do I put in? It’s a 20 gallon tank.
OK. I already have an air stone.

Use 1/8 of a teaspoon per 5 gallons of water.
You may want to let it dissolve in a cup of tank water before adding it. Also, putting an airstone or two in the tank will help with aerating the water.

that sounds so familiar it is scary. my fancy goldfish got dropsy 2 weeks ago(he also is in a 20 gallon tank) but he was a lucky survivor. i would treat the tank with aquarium tetracycline, maracyn-2, and epsom salt( 1/8 teaspoon per 5 gallons, to answer your question). i hope he gets better like my goldfish
i don’t know. i think it is the same thing but i am not sure. i bought mine at petsmart. there is one by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals( the same company that makes stress coat), and one by mardel. i used the one from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. although it does not say it treats dropsy, it helped in my case
