has my goldfish layed eggs?
Ok, so this is a new one for me! Following the death of one of my goldfish, i went out on saturday and got myself a cracking red and black lionhead, fatboy. He/She is pretty big, approx 5-6" in length, and when i picked him out, he had a white spot on his wen that i was told was just wen growth. I got him home in my tank, and he seemed fine, and the white patch dissapeared, but then yesterday a fresh white one appeared. it doesn’t look like Ich or fungus, and he seemed pretty happy. Eating lots of food.
This morning I got up and qucikly checked the tank before i left for work, and it was really coudy. When i switched on the light, I could see hundreds of small translucent balls all over the bottom of the tank. they’re all prefectly round, and were sticking to the glass bottom.
I’m hoping they’re not some new parasite i’ve never heard of - do they sound like eggs? the only other fish in the tank is tiny and i can’t imagine it would have set off breeding behaviour. Is it likely to have been triggered by a tankmate in the shop?
Also, what do i do with them? If they’re unfertilised, i’ll hoover them up and do a water change tonight, but if they have been fertilised, i really don’t think i am capable of a fishy-massacre!

it sounds like eggs but whether there fertilized or not i dont really know but what you could try is calling your local pet store and they should tell you what to do with the eggs
