Goldfish need very large over filtered tanks, at least 20 US gallons for a single Fancy, at least 45-55 US gallons for a single Common/Comet and yes, that’s because they get big! Fancies between 5"-10" excluding fins, Commons/Comets between 10"-12" excluding fins, and they are horrendously messy (that’d be poop) too, which is why they need big volumes of water and heavy filteration.
Tanks designed for "small fish" aren’t usually suitable for "small fish" either. Guppies need at least 10-15 gallons, a single Betta (SIAMESE Fighting Fish NOT Chinese) needs at least 5 US gallons, and always filtered and tropical, unlike a Goldfish’s coldwater setting.
What do you mean by ‘bettas’ you should NOT have more than one male betta - but if they are female that is okay, And no, goldfish do not get along well with betta’s or guppies. But, if ou have a VERy big tank i guess, but I still wouldnt insist on you putting them together.
If the tanks empty it should be fine, But I wouldn’t recommend putting any thing in with a betta unless the store had the betta in with other fish in the first place.

You can’t put a goldfish in the same size tank as a betta. A goldfish has to be able to swim around.

Betta means "Chenise Fighting Fish" by the way.

If you put goldfish in a small tank there are 2 possible outcomes.
If you can do heroic amount of water changing, have decent filtering and feed it well, it will quickly outgrow the tank.
If you dont care for it extremely well, it will become stunted, get sick and die prematurely.
Either way, it’s not good. Goldfish are a hardy, long lived and easy care fish, IF you have the space for them.
