    It depends on the type of fancy and how deep your pond is.

    4 ft deep is usually safe for most regions, but I would reccomend looking up preffered tempratures for each breed you intend on owning

    You cannot let the pond completely freeze over. You need to have a vent hole in the ice to let out gases and to help keep the water oxygenated. That and in most areas, unless your pond is over 3 feet deep, it’s going to get too cold.

    If I were you, I’d net them out and put them in a big tub or horse trough in your basement over the winter. It’ll be cool enough to keep them from eating too much, but it won’t freeze.
