can a white or orange goldfish ever change color to become red?
i understand that some goldfish like a brown goldfish can turn orange and an orange goldfish can turn white, but can an orange or white goldfish change color to become "red"

This will depend on the age of your goldfish. If it is under 6 months old it is possiable. In general, once the color has been established they really won’t change. They can change to white as they get older but basically this is due to the lack of pigment or pigment loss. You can enhance their color by feeding them caroitines like those found in brine shrimp and carrots.
A fish’s color is established genetically and there is little that can be done to change it.
If you are seeing red marks or red strains, this could be something else.

It could. But, I doubt it.
My grandmother has a gold fish, that used to be black, orange, and white. But, it’s lost all it’s black, and orange. He’s almost completely white now.

You no goldfish can change to any color. I no orange goldfish can turn to white. I had one change orange to white last year. It was awesome!
