can you list the bare necessities for starting a goldfish home?

    well for tank size you need

    Fancy goldfish: 20 gallons for the first goldfish and 10 for each additional goldfish

    comet/common: 50 gallons for the first goldfish and 20 for each additional goldfish.

    and a filter rated for about double your tank size

    Food and water conditioner

    and thats about it for bare necessities

    -At least a 40 gallon tank
    -3 fancy(not comets/commons)goldfish
    -A filter for 60-80 gallon tanks(AquaClears are the best)
    -Water Conditoner
    -Goldfish food

    These aren’t the bare necessaties but good to have:
    -40 lbs. of Black Sand(be careful it isn’t live sand)
    -7 Java Fern Plants
    -Some natural looking Decor(not too much since all of the goldfish will grow 6-10 inches long)
